Ana is sitting outside Fortescue's, warming her hands on the cup of coffee in front of her. She wonders, idly, why she showed up. She was supposed to meet Theodore, but she doesn't know why she even asked for company.
Theodore was walking at a brisk pace. He was going to be late. It was good for him to get out of the house, and as much as he hated to admit it, he found that he had missed the company of his housemates. So when the opportunity to meet up with Ana arose, he quickly took it.
He slowed down a bit as he approached Fortescue's and saw her sitting outside. He hoped she wasn't mad that he was late.
Ana curled her legs under her in her chair and looked up. The edges of her mouth curled up into a smile which she quickly forced to face as she saw Theodore there - and she nodded to him, indicating the seat across from her.
He took the seat across from her, and smiled back. "Hey Ana, how are you?"
"Theodore." She nodded again, indicating the coffee in front of him. "I ordered for you." And she wrapped one arm around herself while the other tucked her long black hair behind her ear. "I've been well. You?" Her voice cordial and light, with the slightest bit of apprehension always underneath it.
Theodore took the cup of coffee and nodded. "Thanks," he said. Looking at Ana he replied, "I'm enjoying the holidays, but it does get rather boring at my house."
Ana nodded, but was silent, warming her free hand on the cup of coffee, but not drinking. "I'm... sorry about your father," she said. "It seems like every Slytherin is a step closer to Azkaban..now."
Theodore sighed. He hadn't been expecting his father to be gone this summer. "Yeah, it is unfortunate. Although I don't expect he'll be in there too long."
Ana, appropriately, manages a soft smile at that. "That's good to hear." Looking across the table at his sigh and wondering if he were really close enough to wish his father were there. She would envy that.
Theo takes a sip of his coffee. It really did feel good to get out of the house. He had spent the earlier part of the day trying to learn more about his laptop. If he had to use it, he was going to use it to his advantage. He smirked as he asked Ana, "So what do you think of Dumbledore's new 'project'?"
"It's amusing enough...." She quickly sits up straighter, knowing that here she must be careful that her opinions match those that are expected of her. "For muggle technology, at least it provides some entertainment."
Theodore lets out a small laugh. "I tormented Weasley on it the other day. That was rather entertaining."
Ana smiles softly again, nodding. "I'm sure it was. Like that song about him last year? He's... so easy..."
Theodore nods. "He's pathetic. He was whining over the computer. I didn't know it was possible." He takes another sip of coffee. "So, having a good time back at the Greengrass household?" he asks, wondering what she has been up to.
Ana shrugs tightly, finally lifting the coffee to sip at it and then sitting it down again, warming her hands. "Mother and Father left for France. I've been... reading, mostly. And resting. The Manor is too large for one person." And at that she frowns quickly, tightening her protective arm around herself, then it clears and she looks back to Theodore. "And at the Nott Estates?"
Theo sighs again. "Dull. My mother isn't around much, and with my father in prison, there's not much to do."
Ana nods at that, but doesn't reply. Vaguely she considers inviting him to spend time with her, then pushes it away. That's letting him too close. She sips at her coffee again and stays silent.
Theo looks at Ana, smiles and says, "You told me you had plans at 3, it's about 3 o'clock now."
Ana looks down to her watch, frowning at how quickly this conversation with him had to be over - and surprising herself with that. Well, it had been rather.. pleasant... she guessed.. "Yes. I have to be fitted for a new robe..." She warms her hands on the mug for a moment longer and then stands. "Thank you for... meeting me, I suppose."
Theodore nods, rising to his feet as well. "We'll have to meet again, this summer."
Ana nods and offers a very small smile before turning and heading for Madame Malkin's.
Theodore watches her leave, and sighs. Time for him to return home. Although, he was in Diagon Alley. He decided to go broom shopping first. His father wasn't home to argue about how he should spend his money, and Theodore decided to take advantage of that.
