Daisy surprises her big brother by coming home. Rated G.

Daisy folds the owl she just received into a tiny square and slides it into the pocket of her slacks, pulling her robe closed around herself and looking into the window of Quality Quidditch Supplies. Ohhh... he's going to be so surprised! She couldn't resist owling Aidan to tell him she was coming home, but she wanted to see the look on his face when she was home more than a month earlier - and with all her things. She picks the cage up the cage holding her two parrots - both gifts from Davy - and slowly pushes open the door to the shoppe.

Davy is behind the register, leaning on the counter and looking through the day's receipts. "Sorry, we're closed," he begins, looking up and his face breaks into a huge smile when he sees you. His eyes are wide with evident surprise. "Daisy!" In less than a second, he's around the corner and moving to give you a huge hug.

Daisy sets the cage down and immediately flings herself into your arms, wrapping hers around you in a tight tight tight and excited hug. "Davy!" She squeals it, giggling. "I'm home!"

"I see that!" Davy beams, picking you up and twirling you around in a circle. "I've missed you so much. How long are you here? I can't believe you didn't tell me you were going to visit!"

"I told you I'd come to visit after Geneva... I just... never made it to Geneva." And she crosses her ankles, legs bent back into the air as you twirl her around, hugging you back tightly. "Surprise."

Davy laughs, finally sitting you down. "I'm so glad! Its a wonderful surprise!!" He grins, nodding to the cage. "Need a babysitter?"

"Oh now.. you know the babies never go anywhere that I'm not planning on staying for a few ... Months!" And she lets the last word, excited as she sounded when she said it, hang in the air as she turns shrugs slightly and beams at you before turning to wrinkle her nose at the birds.

"You're really back for that long?!" Davy lets out a happy whoop, and scoops you up again. "This is wonderful! Just simply wonderful." He holds you at arm's length, looking you over. "You doing well?" He notes you seem healthy and happy.

"I am! They want me as a liaison in the London offices! So, I'm back!" She giggles as you pick her up and then wrinkles her nose cutely at you, smiling, when you look her over. "I still have all my limbs in tact, Da..." Mimicking one of Aidan's more exasperated tones. "I'm great! What about my big brother?"

Davy grins ruefully. "Can't help it," he admits. "I've looked out for you too long." He smiles, eyes glittering. "Back for good? That's almost too good to be true. You've been away for ages!" He takes your hand. "Want me to fix you something to eat? Will you stay at the flat or do you want me to help you find your own place? You know, you might actually have time to meet someone if you stay in on place." He speaks quickly, shooting the questions at your rapidly, excited beyond words.

If possible, Daisy's smile widens - happy that you're so happy she's home. She answers each, her voice just as rapid and excited as yours, and squeezes your hand tight. "Back for good! At least I think so! And can I stay here until I do find a place? And Oh, Davy! I'm not looking to meet anyone right now and yes make me dinner..." Her eyes widen as she thinks of something. "Oh! No! Let's go out! That Thai place right on the London side? I've missed that place sooo much and Oh, goddesses, Davy, I've missed you!" Throwing her arms around your neck again.

Speaking this way is just normal for them, and Davy doesn't even bat an eye at how quickly Daisy changes subjects. "For good! I just can't believe!" His eyes light up and he hugs you back enthusiastically. "You can stay as long as you'd like, even longer! And you don't have to rush about finding someone, but I want you to be happy!" He's all but bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Oh, Thai! That would be bloody brilliant, and I haven't been in ages." He lets go at last, taking your hand while he closes up the register, unwilling to let you go even for a moment. "Let me put on something more Muggle," he nods, indicating his robe, and he tugs you up the stairs.

Daisy lets you move her up the stairs, her free hand undoing her robe and shrugging it off as she you go - incredibly happy to have fallen back into old habits with you so soon, but it isn't really as if she expected anything different. "I know! Isn't it great?! I mean... traveling was great for a few years. But there's just so much that needs to be done here and Oh! I missed being home! I never thought I'd miss Diagon Alley so much, you know?" Practically skipping over the last stair as you open the door to the upstairs rooms. "And how are you? And the shop? And when is Aidy coming home, and he's bringing Alex, right? Because I owled and told Alex that he better be coming with him so we can take care of him here...." Smiling even more as she looks around the flat and sees that it's still the home she's always known.

"I wondered if you'd ever tire of it, but honestly, I wasn't sure. And you were so good at your job, but yes, you're needed and wanted back here. Diagon Alley never changes much does it?" With that, he drops his robe over the back of an overstuffed chair. He grabs a pair of Muggle sneakers and sits to pet them on. He's already wearing jeans a t-shirt - one you've sent him from a trip to the States. "I'm doing great," he grins. "Aren't I always?" And if you've even really noticed the hint of sadness about him, its more apparent than ever. "Like I said in my owl, the shop is booming." He stands, taking your arm. "Aidan will be home next week, and Alex hopes to join him, if his family can let him go. It's such a difficult time...," he trails off, frowning.

Her smile fades just slightly as you talk and she wrinkles her nose again, this time not cute - but worried. "David Gudgeon. There's something you're not telling me..." But she slides her hand into yours again and squeezes, not pushing the subject. "Yeah... Poor Alex. Maggie was such an amazing person, too..."

Davy merely gives you a baffled look, not even aware the sadness is showing a bit more than usual. He's not even aware that it ever shows, he's so accustomed to hiding it. "Not telling you? Why, we've been talking non-stop since you arrived." He pats your head, patronisingly. "She was. I'm sure you'll miss her too," he nods, knowing that you two were friends in school. He opens the door of the shoppe for you, warding it behind you both "Thai it is," he grins, heading toward the Leaky Cauldron.

Daisy sighs softly as you talk but looks at you a moment and decides this isn't the time to pry, so she smiles brightly again - truly happy to be home, despite the world situation getting darker. And it may be silly, but she thinks as you lock up the shoppe that she's always felt like nothing could hurt her as long as she could get back to here. She takes your hand, falling into step with you down the main alley - completely content.
